So it's back to being an extraordinary minister of the eucharist at a local Catholic Hospital.
I learned that Sister Emily, my mentor from a dozen or so years ago, retired to her religious order's mother house a few years back, and is now celebrating her 101st birthday.

That is a noble service. Thank you for volunteering your time to those in need.

Speaking of new commissions..... The younger sister of my daughter-in-law is joining the Sisters of Life as a postulant. She leaves in late August for the Mother House in New York City.

Our family made a large gift to help pay off Molly's student loans. (A postulant cannot enter with any debts as she will have no income to pay them off.)

Not going to lie, this was not what I was expecting.
