Election Thread II: Kamala vs. Trump

Post by Del »

Wosbald posted this in one of his threads:

VP NOMINEE TIM WALZ SUPPORTS THE RIGHT TO INFANTICIDE
Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has picked Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota as her running mate. Walz recently legalized infanticide in the state of Minnesota. As someone who does not identify as conservative, I’d be delighted if this claim could be dismissed as a right-wing fever dream. Unfortunately, it is all too real. And by infanticide, I really do mean aiming at the death of newborn infants.
The gist of the article is that doctors too often illegally hasten the death of children born alive after attempted late-term abortions, children born with defects, and premature babies by denying them the urgent care that they need. Walz weaseled the language in a huge healthcare omnibus bill to make this infanticide legal.

Remember when former Gov. Ralph Northam of Virginia (a medical doctor) described this practice in a radio interview. It went viral, cost him the election, and turned Virginia from a blue state to a purple state.

Because Walz weaseled this into a huge bill, it didn't get noticed by voters. The Left got the infanticide protection that they wanted, and word spread through the abortion lobby dark web.
=======================================

I have decided that Tim Walz is a Bill Cosby type of character.

He's a TV sitcom Dad persona with a very dark and disturbing hidden life.

We don't know if there will be any more interviews with Kamala, so gotta make a party of this.

I can't decide between a sophisticated martini or good, stiff bourbon.

I'm not turning this into a drinking game. I'd be soused after sipping every time they mention Trump.
I'd never finish my drink if I wait for them to mention Biden.

I just hope that Dana Bash, just once, tells Tim Walz to shut up and forces Kamala to finish. Hahahahahahaha!

Time to pour a warm-up bourbon, I think. Cheers!

Props to Dana Bash: She's asking the solid questions. Fracking. Border. "Why haven't you done anything yet?"

And Tim is just sitting there, like a good lap dog. We are off to a good start.

It don't look so good. The Kamalawalz has said nothing new other than admitting that Harris hasn't changed her spots.
I'm pouring Bourbon.

First Question: "What will you do on Day 1?"

Kamala: "I'm going to work for the Middle Class and toss up a word salad."

Second Question: "Yes, but what are you going to do on Day 1? What is your first priority, your first Executive action?"

Kamala: "Like I said, and let me be very clear, we have a clear plan of word salad."

"Moving on...."
=====================

Kamala has not thought past avoiding the press while they carry her over the finish line. We did not learn a thing about what Kamala's presidency will look like.

If you didn't watch the interview, you'll see as many clips as you care to. My hot take is that we still don't know anything about any of her specific policy proposals. On the other hand, she didn't fall apart or obviously damage herself.

She did double down on a free $25,000 grant for first-time homebuyers.
She pledged "consequences" for people who cross our border illegally. Whatever that means. I wish Dana had asked, "What consequences?"
She bragged about insulin.

Walz was asked about his claim that he carried weapons in war.... He blamed his misleading claims on "bad grammar."

Overall, it was pretty light. Pretty much what I expected. But I really hoped we would learn something new about Kamala's policies and leadership. This should have been an opportunity for Kamala to stake out some firm territory.

I think your expectations were realistic. We're not going to hear any solid and realistic policy plans before the election. No bullet points. No charts. No graphs. No pledges (not real ones anyway). No actionable items. Nothing except shouts about how scary Trump is. Here's the deal though - Trump has mellowed since he last held office. He's stayed out of trouble the last four years so there's nothing new about him. No new porn star affairs. No new crude locker room jokes. No new skeletons. No broken promises from his first term. Nothing new. All Harris can do is say he's "scary" and his running mate is "weird". He has been in and out of court the last few years but nobody takes those charges seriously and everybody knows they were political in nature and not criminal or they never would have made it off a prosecutors desk.

They're not running a serious campaign, or even an organized one. It's enough to make me think that the DNC was seriously blindsided by Biden's decline because they didn't have any backup plans that look effective or well considered.
If we ever get to heaven boys, it ain't because we ain't done nothin' wrong. - Kris Kristofferson

Ahead of the interview, Chuck Todd observed that Kamala fumbled her strategy by avoiding the press media. She invites minute scrutiny of every moment in her one interview.

NBC's Chuck Todd knocks Kamala Harris' 'mistake' of avoiding press: 'Any fumble' will be 'overly scrutinized'

He nailed it. There are just 16 minutes of actual Kamala and every network has parsed each moment, every nod and smirk.

Coming from Chuck Todd, a liberal hack, that really says something!
