I have an old "Craftsman" set that my wife bought me years ago...it came in a 3 section plastic case...the "hinge" was just the plastic between the sections. Been broken into 3 pieces for years. I finally went out and bought a cheap back pack that it fits in...it works. I would rather use Fred's idea, but I don't have a shop or a large tool box...and the set is metric/English - 1/4, 1/2, so lots of pieces and they have slots in the plastic sections to keep them organized...and I need all of that kind of help I can get :)

I am betting you could use Fred's tool case idea, or coco's make your own idea, or check with the tool companies to get a replacement case.

Expanding on coco's idea, while offering no value to JMG (it's what I do), here's a case I made for a test indicator 40ish years ago when I had access to a fully stocked machine shop and more time than money. Looking at it now, I see all the accessories have been moved to other drawers, lost, or lent and never returned.

BTW - each of the marks on the indicator equal .0005" (pronounced five ten-thousandths of an inch, often shortened to "five tenths" by those who deal with such things). I used to do some pretty precise stuff.

Blow-molded cases kinda suck. I have quite a few with broken hinges or latches.
