Pipe carving suggestions

Post by GaryInVA »

I found this meer carving kit amongst my stuff while unpacking boxes that were sealed 20 years ago.

I'm looking for suggestions on what to attempt to carve with this kit.

That is badass. Go freehand. Fondle and shape, fondle and shape. See where it takes you.

Although, topless mermaids are pretty cool.

First thing I'd do is rehydrate that sea foam! It's much easier to shape when it's hydrated. Put it in a ziploc bag with some distilled water and let it sit for a month or so. When you're working on it, return it to the bag between carving sessions. It becomes very hard and brittle when it's bone dry.

Anything I carve will end up looking like a freehand.
