I saw this sad news a couple of days ago. I'll very much miss him on Sirius XM Outlaw Country. I always liked his playlists.

His was my favorite show on XSM. Mrs FredS always thought he sounded like a goof when he said "outlaaaaAW country".

A classmate of mine, Chuck Mead, was actually friends with him and is/was performing on the outlaw country cruise Nixon was hosting. I imagine it puts a damper on the last few days of the cruise when your host is on ice in the ships freezer.

I remember listening when he was playin' with Skid Roper in the '90s.

Fun Fact: He also played Toad [?!?] in the Super Mario Bros. film w/ Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo (which I actually saw in the theatre).
