Ordered my first pair of Vans shoes from an ad in Skateboarder Magazine. Filled out the order form, cut it out of the ad, put it in an envelope with a check my mom filled out (using grass cutting money) made out for $19.95, shipping included. Mailed it off.

And waited. 6 weeks it took.

Also, there was only one colorway of Vans skate shoes at that time. Blue.

They were beautiful.

I received my First Communion kneeling at an altar rail.

Shortly after, the Communion Rail was removed. We were told it had to go because of Vatican II.
