Any of you guys have a recommendation for a decent meant tenderizer? Something I could use for deer. Not looking to do my own hamburger, but tenderize. I have a friend that loves to hunt deer, but not eat them. He gives me quite a few every year...like a lot. My dad and I each had four processed last year, and gave away a few. However, this year I'd like to keep all of them and just debone and make a bunch of tenderized steaks and stew meat to put away.
I don't want to spend a fortune, so I'm fine with a hand crank version. I just don't want to have to beat everything with a mallet. That makes a mess even with just a small batch.

Meathead Goldwyn reviews one type to tenderizer. This insight could help you with other products.

Fresh pineapple, that is. You can grind up the skin and core, since it contains the same enzymes. Don't leave it on there for longer than about 30 minutes, though, as it can make the meat mushy if it stays on too long.
I am not as cool as JimVH. Nor or you. Well, unless you ARE JimVH.

I looked at this one. However, judging by the reviews I don't think it will be up for the amount of meat I'll have.

I've always just tenderized as needed like after pulling from the freezer and thawing (which tenderizes somewhat by just freezing)
You have an excellent friend, I wish I had buddies that would fill my freezer for me!

That's going to be tough going when I've got a few deer to tenderize all at once.Bloodhound wrote: ↑28 Nov 2022, 09:14 My wife bought one of these this Fall and after using it twice, bought 4 more for Christmas gifts and another to keep at the cabin
