Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Post by tuttle »

Going to be a sparse celebration this year, bit o corned beef and the prerequisite Guinness. A little too cold out for parade attendance.

But Saturday I'm playing some Irish tunes at a local coffee shop.

Happy St. Patrick's day to you gentlemen.

Happy St. Patrick's day from the 32% of me that's Irish. The other 68% doesn't really care, but, in the spirit of the date, will use the day as an excuse to drink a beer and smoke Peterson's St. Patrick 120 when I get home.

Happy St Patrick's Day back at you all!
May Erin go bra-less.

I'm off to help set up the hall for a corned beef and cabbage feast tomorrow, wherein I help cook 700# of corned beef (plus cabbage, potatoes and carrots)
I get to drink a Guiness if I want to pay for it. This is a fund raiser after all. :D

I was at a gentlemen's hat store this week looking for a new cap to replace an old fading black one. The owner kept insisting I needed a green one for St. Patrick's day. I insisted my red beard suggested I was Irish every day.

I'm not a fan of this "holiday."

Much like St. Valentine's Day, the heroic virtue of the original saint has been forgotten in a wash of secular excess.

May those that love us love us, and those that don’t, might God turn their hearts. And if He won’t turn their hearts, may He turn their ankles, so we can recognize ‘em by their limping!

Ive worn a green shirt today, and put a drop of green food color in my gin and tonic this evening. I also ate a baked Irish potato with the KC fried fish at lunch. There's a Peterson pipe around here somewhere if I can find it. I don't know how much Irish is mixed in with my Heinze 57 blood, but that's ok.

I feel a fellow could write a song out of all that. Every sentence contains the essence of each verse and 'but that's ok' would be a fine chorus to swing on.
