If you can overlook the fact that this kid should have started fishing two years ago, this is funny.

It's almost that time of year....FISHING SEASON
The only fishing seasons here that I know of are for offshore; and even then it may be just in federal waters. There may be some seasons for offshore state waters, I'm not sure, (and at least for the moment I'm not looking it up).
Meanwhile, inshore salt water fishing here has been dismal so far this year, to say the least. More fishermen than there are fish, and every weekend when my grandsons are free the weather and tides seems to turn wrong.
Freshwater has been slow, but we've enjoyed catching enough bass and crappie for a couple of small Saturday afternoon fish fries. Also it was fun catching this guy, who flipped flopped around after this photo and self-released itself.
This guy was released into the ice chest.
Another good thing is that I finally brought my broken Clearwater fly rod to Orvis in Houston, who basically replaced it for $60. So I'm back in business on that front. I'm hoping to get a business trip to CO this summer; if so then I'll bring the rod with me.
Edit: I must not know how to post pics correctly. The first intended pic is a large bowfin. The second pic is a nice crappie.

The Indians will not bother you now, on account of ... you are touched.
