The Traditional Kiseru
- The bowl was small because tobacco was super expensive. Still, most people smoked several bowls in succession.
- The tobacco was finer than shag cut
I am not as cool as JimVH. Nor or you. Well, unless you ARE JimVH.

The Traditional Kiseru
I bought one of these in Kyoto about ten years ago. 8th generation makers, ancient house, whole nine yards. Cost about 30 dollars for a brass and bamboo one, about 4 bucks for a box if kizami tobacco.
3 puffs and it's gone. Super cool little thing. Thanks for reminding me to go look for it!

The Traditional Kiseru
I have one I picked up during one of my visits for business. It was made for the tourist trade. It has the requisite connecting holes so it could be smoked if I ever get the desire.
