I am about 20% into the book. So far it is OK, but mostly just low drama war stories involving the dog. I expect it improves.

I never did end up hunting down a Nimrod, but I do like Zippo pipe lighters. I must find one of these! I thought I had finally turned the corner and would just smoke what I have until they burn out.

I got to looking at prices and it seems like vintage lighters are all the rage and the prices are crazy...saw a Nimrod Sportsman for $175...

I got my Nimrod Commander a few years ago for $15 I think...it needed new wick and a clean up, but with help from Hugo, I got it working and reliable. But now I see nice ones are bringing upwards of $75...

Even old Zippos, and the old Ronson lighters are bringing the $$...crazy...Looks like I'll just stay happy with my Zippos and Nimrod.

I heard of these before; the Maltese Falcon rings a bell. Yours looks very big.

Mine is similar in size to the one in the movie except mine is a post war model (& without the clock). Mine is about 4" tall, 3" long and about 2" wide.

That's cool. Do they use standard zippo lighter fluid?

I used my Nimrod Commander lighter last night for my first smoke in 6 weeks...felt kinda cool...not as cool as Judge Rusty and nowhere near as cool as JimVH
