It is an unseasonable cool 80 degrees here in the San Joaquin Valley---where it's typically over 100 in August--- with a chance of snow in the Sierra, which mean a possibility of rain where I live.
Out on the patio I enjoyed a bowl of Big Sur---an English style which I picked up at the pipe shop in Carmel---in a Peterson Bulldog which a CPS'er blessed me with a few years ago :D
The tobacco packed beautifully and was flavorful and cool smoking. I even pressed into service my decades old home-made grape cane tamper (which did an admirable job!) The Hummingbirds were active and put on a little show.
A gentle evening to remember.

Here is the ''Shy Blackie" always staying in the back of my old parents house in the shadow, although looks with an strict look was very shy, always from distance and never came too close, me making one step forward then he was making one step backward, even when i was throwing food to him he didn't approach, we wanted to be very close to him. I don't know why was so afraid although he was looking that all the other cats were friendly with me.

Image

''Is it you or is it me?" and as you can image the coward lost in this case too, he never ''fought'' for his food so i felt pity for him and i was waiting for the moment to be completely alone (so the other cats won't snatch the food) and with patience gave him to eat.
He never-ever made a sound, not even a single ''meow" not even once, just stearing at me and waiting.

Nice, although I'm not particularly fond of cats. (My wife and kids all do like cats however, so there has always been compromise.) Anyway in the first pic, what is the depression in the concrete, is that a sink, or perhaps some sort of vat?
The Indians will not bother you now, on account of ... you are touched.

It is the back side of the house, this is the entrance to the basement, it has 2 steps.
The house belongs to my parents, they are elderly with mobility-vision problems, so they can't have things in order.
