So yesterday I was in the garage putzing around with the Model T when my bride comes in and notices (after 26 years) that I've got coffee cans and baby food jars full of nuts, bolts, screws, washers and nails all in a couple of very old wooden Coca Cola crates on the shelving.
My fate was immediately sealed---hold off on the T and rescue the Coca Cola crates for my bride's decor
Today I got back to working on the T and the Coca Cola crates are now residing on the coffee table and the fireplace hearth.
There is one crate left in the garage, but it doesn't have Coca Cola painted on it, so I assume it's persona non grata.
I am disappointed in myself and my local Ace hardware. of the same
I had some 1-1/2" slotted 1/4-20 panhead screws and needed 2" screws, so I gave the clerk my 1-1/2" screw and told him I wanted five of the same but 2 inches. He put the 2 inch screws in a bag and I went on my merry way.
At home I opened the bag to find that the screws he gave me were Phillips, not slotted and unusable for my particular application.
Tomorrow, I'll take them back.
