Drones/UAP/UFO?

I was just thinking that there's a good reason those drones aren't flying around SE Texas or SW Louisiana; but now I suppose I have to revise that to just SW Louisiana. It seems now there's some being seen over Bolivar Peninsula. But that should be with an asterisk, since Bolivar never has been known to be a very dry area, exactly, and many of those folks see all sorts of stuff. No offense or anything like that; they just enjoy having a good time.

I keep thinking back to my teens when I sold guns for Oshmans'. Back then everything west of the city on I-10 seemed to be rice land and duck blinds. We always had one of those long Marlin 10 ga bolt action goose guns on the rack. It looked like a Howitzer against all the other long guns. I remember them selling pretty well and would guess there are still plenty around.

I remember those long barreled Marlins, 32" barrel or maybe longer, and came with a shoulder strap. I knew at least 2 guys that had one, and at least 1 guy that had a double barrel 10 ga. I also remember Oshman's, and miss it. I bought a couple of Garcia 5000 or 5500 C reels from there, and they put line on them as a courtesy. This was '93 - '95 time period, when I lived in Spring and worked downtown at 1 Allen Center, or Texaco Heritage Plaza, to be exact. Once each week a few co-workers and myself would venture down into the tunnel and eat lunch of shrimp gumbo or etouffee at Treebeard's. Man I'm really reminiscing. What thread IS this, anyway?

Various government agencies have issued a statement regarding the drones.

Before you see the statement, ask yourself: Do you trust them?

I'm sad to discover that I don't.

I don't know if they are lying, or just incompetent. But in just a few years, I've lost my confidence in US Government statements either way.

For what it's worth....

The statement comes from the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, FAA, and Department of Defense. It follows weeks of speculation and widespread news coverage of the sightings, many of which have occurred in New Jersey.

“Having closely examined the technical data and tips from concerned citizens, we assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and stars mistakenly reported as drones,” the statement said. “We have not identified anything anomalous and do not assess the activity to date to present a national security or public safety risk over the civilian airspace in New Jersey or other states in the northeast.”

What’s going on with all of the drones/UAP, whatever’s? and why is it not being talked about on a nation wide scale?

I agree. It’s really weird. This is either a test by our government or a failing of detection so embarrassing they’d rather laugh it off.
