ROE V WADE OVERRULED!
Kristy Noble, a protester in Dallas, rallying the crowd: "It is time to stop playing nice. We have to get mean, we have to get loud, and we have to fight for our rights."

ROE V WADE OVERRULED!
Friendly Cops at our little pro-life rally urged us to move on home quickly, as the much larger crowd of angry abortion supporters had started marching around the Capitol Square. This was the same crowd of white liberal rowdies who had trashed downtown during the BLM riot season, so prudent advice was heeded.
In general though..... this violence and mayhem are not winning the hearts and minds of the public and voters. As care centers get vandalized, more and more people are learning about the charitable work that pro-lifers offer to mothers and children. We can repair and carry on. The pro-life movement grows in support.

Yeah, I've seen that. And they attacked Mary in Louisiana.Del wrote: ↑25 Jun 2022, 13:25I feel the same way.... Our long goal is to restore a culture of life, until abortion once again becomes unthinkable. Along the way, we would overturn Roe and pass some pro-life laws. But those are just milestones, not the final victory.
We have been winning for long decades now. So many abortion clinics closed for lack of business and public subsidies. Nobody missed them. Many states had just a few clinics remaining. Several had only one clinic, flying in an abortionist to do procedures a few days each month.
There will still be illegal abortions in some unscrupulous doctors' clinics. But the industry is broken, in more than half of the states. Nobody will miss them.

Pipeson and I are volunteering to keep security vigil tonight at our local Women's Care Center.
Madison experienced some pro-abortion vandalism a few weeks ago, so we have a terror cell active in the area.
In today's pending sign of the apocalypse, or maybe my brain slowly reaching rationality, I really agree with what you're doing, Del. The only way to stop this is to help people cherish life and to see children not as liabilities but as blessings. I love that you cook dinners for young families and throw parties and help get groceries. Creating a culture of thankfulness is a big part of the issue. Can't believe I used to be a "well, I'm opposed but..." fellow. Plenty of Axis officers and men were just following orders and that's worse than the lunatics that were giving the orders.
I'm going to get involved. Not with protesting, but with helping young mothers. You're completely right.
Weenies are us.

Madison has two charity care centers. One is run by Evangelicals. The other is a Catholic organization, and located right across the street from Planned Parenthood. We have a Eucharistic chapel and everything.Hugo Drax wrote: ↑26 Jun 2022, 01:28Yeah, I've seen that. And they attacked Mary in Louisiana.Del wrote: ↑25 Jun 2022, 13:25I feel the same way.... On Fri, June 24, the day of the decision announcement -- a couple of young Marines called the two Care Centers in Madison, offering to help. They ended up providing the first night of security at our Women's Care Center with a disciplined schedule of inside and outside guards. Very effective deterrence. Cops were patrolling the area frequently as well.
One of the Marines was a common Catholic (didn't know what Adoration was). The other was not. Neither one had ever done any pro-life activity, as far as we know. All they knew is that America was under threat and the targets were charity care centers.
The women who run the Care Center are ever so grateful for the men showing up to protect their mission.

I think the US is gong to see a redistribution of people.
We will divide into two countries.
Constitutional Republic and Socialist-esque Something. I don't know how the term Democrat would work itself in there.
Since the most left leaning states are on both coasts, we'd look like India and Pakistan.
Various states might come together to mix and match counties to create their own collective that will become a new State.
It is a total rework, as some wished for.

A lot of people from California are moving to the Huntsville area right now. I'm not sure of their motivation, however. Are they moving to a conservative state, or are they unable to get a good job in California and are moving here because there are jobs?DLJake wrote: ↑26 Jun 2022, 15:09 I think the US is gong to see a redistribution of people.

I agree - most states will likely legalize abortion via legislation. Some will be more 'restrictive' than others. It will become an advertising talking point and a distinction between candidates leading up to elections. Like 'gun control', people will buzz about it and - rightly - feel their vote for state offices matters a little more than it did last year. The issue is no longer settled and people have another chance to weigh in on the matter locally.
Of course this is all apart from the Christian understanding that abortion is evil and ought not be allowed.

The ramifications of Dobbs goes beyond overturning Roe**. According to Justice Thomas (and the dissenting justices) other cases argued on similar grounds (he calls out ‘substantive due process’ as a legal fiction) as Roe, or used Roe to build their case, are now theoretically on the chopping block. Thomas specifically mentioned Griswold (contraceptives), Lawrence (criminal punishment for gay stuff), and Obergefell (same-sex marriage).
Regardless on whether or not those cases do get overturned (I actually think they might within the next decade or so) I think this also signals a shift in where the battles take place. The left can no longer depend on the highest court to implement their social agendas.
**actually, Dobbs is just one piece in what looks to be a turning point in how the court views itself and its powers. A lot of these opinions are doing the legwork for the future by overturning bad past opinions that have handcuffed previous courts. They are looking to clean up the crap and restrict the court's power (ie, no more legislation from the bench), and it's going to have huge ramifications for all of the leftist "achievements" over the last few decades.
