Excise Tax? Ugh!

Finally ordered some more tobacco. I haven't placed an order online for at least 10 years. I used Pipes and Cigars. At checkout I got charged sales tax and excise tax. Are all online tobacco vendors required to charge excise tax?

IDK but I'm sure the new 87,000 IRS agents will get it sorted out in the end.

Bunch of goons! I remember the glory days of online purchases to dodge sales tax. Now they're making up for lost time.

I got slapped with a bill from my state for tobacco purchased year before last. "The Tobacco and Vapor Products Tax is imposed at the rate of 30% on the wholesale price the distributor pays to buy the products from the manufacturer."

Taxation is theft. Taxation of pipe tobacco is really mean theft.
