One of my eldest daughter's classmates and friends, a hale and hearty young man, died unexpectedly over the weekend. For most of these kids, it's the first encounter with the impermanence and unpredictability of life.
We live in an emotional world, filled with grief counselors who don't get paid if people don't break down and mothers urging people to communicate their feelings. My wife is having a hard time imagining what his parents are going through. I'm the hardass trying to keep everybody's sticks on the ice. The "things just happen" guy.
Anyway, if you all could pray for everyone involved here and for a little bit of wisdom for me I'd appreciate it. I'm really not good at non-rage-based emotions.

Praying. Coincidentally a 17 year old sr at the high school where 3 of our grandkids attend also passed away last Friday morning. Candlelight service at the high school tomorrow night.
The Indians will not bother you now, on account of ... you are touched.
