I have cooked over 30 pounds of chili meat since early December and have never added beans to the pot. I do not like beans in my chili, but do like my guests to be happy. Beans are served on the side to be added according to individual taste.

If you want beans in your chili, then put beans in your chili.

I've been promised some venison. I'm already picturing a pot of venison chili, and I have a recipe from when I lived in S. Carolina back in the 80s.

I like beans in my chili. I like to simmer the beans with the rest of the ingredients, as the beans can take up some of the flavors during cooking.

I like to use a mix of black beans and red kidney beans. Black beans have a pleasantly distinctive flavor of their own. Kidney beans are great at soaking up the stew and spice flavors.

I never use the traditional pinto beans. No one has ever complained.

But sometimes I make chili with no beans (and no hot peppers), just for Mrs. Del. She's picky about stuff.

It won’t when it’s done.

Stuck in Wisconsin, I've never heard of Chili Colorado before. This sounds like a recipe that I want to try.

Is this recipe on the right track?
