Election Thread II: Kamala vs. Trump
Pretty sure there won't be. A couple of the reasons I dislike Harris is that I don't think she's very smart and I don't think she works hard. Pretty important traits if you want to show up prepared for a debate (or run a country for that matter), and we all know what happened the last time when her boss flubbed it. After that debate, Harris herself said you can't judge a candidate based on a 90 minute snippet of their career, but we all did. And we all will again if she actually shows up for it. Which she won't.

If Trump can bite his tongue, he should agree to Harris' demands just like he did with Joe.FredS wrote: ↑26 Aug 2024, 18:16Pretty sure there won't be. It'll make for grand entertainment!

But it wasn't just a 90 minute interview... We all expected Joe would fall apart. He needed to prove that he could stand up for 90 minutes. If he can't face Trump in a moderated debate, how could he possibly hold up against Putin or Xi or the Ayatollah?FredS wrote: ↑26 Aug 2024, 18:16 I don't think she's very smart and I don't think she works hard. I believe you have nailed it on Harris. I haven't given much thought to Kamala's personality and personal weaknesses (her policy statements in 2020 and her votes as Veep were already a hard NO for me). She's silly and lazy, just full of narcissism and ambition. Maybe she won some speech awards in high school.
The latest on Kamala's first media interview: She wants Tim Walz sitting next to her. He's already doing her homework, ready to jump in when she gets stuck.
She's running her campaign based on a new image, manufactured by ads and media support. If she is elected, she'll be just like Joe: Surrounding herself with identity types who support her image, not serious people doing serious jobs.
I still can't believe that just a few months ago, Democrats were talking about dumping Harris as a running mate. Her approval rating was even lower than Joe's. And now she's the Second Coming of Obama. She's a "Fresh Face," ready to bring the change that we need.
We are a stupid people. If she wins, then we deserve the Idiocracy that we'll get.
Trump 2.0 is quite a transformation. He is more mature and solidly 'presidential.' He openly admits the mistakes that he made in personnel and covid policy, and pledges to do better. After his stalwart defiance against all of the law fare attacks and his instinctive reaction to an assassination attempt, I'm ready to call him HEROIC.
Kamala 2.0 is a cockroach, scurrying from the light.

Election Thread II: Kamala vs. Trump
While endorsing Pres. Trump, Tulsi Gabbard pledged "to end yet another Kamala Harris campaign."
It was Tulsi's attack on Kamala in the 2020 Democrat debate that torpedoed Kamala's campaign. In the video below, we see Kamala is pretty good on attack against Joe Biden (first 3 minutes, talking about bussing policies from decades ago).... but she can't defend her own record when Tulsi pounced.
I can see now why Kamala is hidin' like Biden. She has no defense for inflation, border, Ukraine & Gaza, loss of military strength, school groomers, etc.

From a few months ago, when Biden was still the candidate, Kamala was asked a simple question about DEI programs in the Biden Administration and what it would mean if Donald Trump were to roll those back.

It's official:
Kamala Harris will sit down for an interview with CNN's Dana Bash. Tim Walz will be at her side.
This interview will be taped on Thursday and broadcast later on CNN at 8:00 pm (Central), Thursday, Aug. 29.

I guess I'll have to watch. Who knows how many chances we're gonna get at this?

Election Thread II: Kamala vs. Trump
More law fare.....
Biden-Harris Admin Files Reworked Indictment Against Trump
Special Counsel Jack Smith is left-wing zealot serving the corrupt Biden-Harris Administration.
Here's the play-by-play, thus far:
1) Smith's case against Trump regarding confidential documents was DISMISSED because AG Merrick Garland appointed Smith without consulting the Senate for approval. This violates the Appointments Clause of the Constitution. Smith has no standing to investigate or prosecute.
2) Smith's case regarding Trump's allegations of election fraud and interference on Jan 6 were DISMISSED after the Supreme Court re-asserted the long-standing precedent regarding the presumption of Presidential Immunity.
3) Undeterred, Smith cleaned up his charges against Trump regarding Jan 6. He removed words and actions that were proper to PRESIDENT Trump. He claims the remaining charges are related to CANDIDATE Trump, and are not protected by the Supreme Court's definition of "quasi-immunity." Smith convened a whole new grand jury. Now he is re-filing the same four felony charges.
4) DOJ policy prohibits bringing charges against candidates within 60 days of an election, to avoid accusations of election interference. These charges were filed 69 days before the official election date.
The Trump campaign is calling this blatant election interference.
1) Jack Smith has still not been approved by the Senate. A Court has already decided that his prosecution is unconstitutional. (btw, a Federal District Attorney, already approved by the Senate, could take up these charges if they have merit. But none have.)
2) Smith is really stretching the limits of the recent Supreme Court decision.
3 In some states, early voting starts in a few weeks. DOJ should respect the 60-day limit accordingly.
These charges are never going to trial, and Smith knows it. But he got his headline, ""TRUMP CHARGED AGAIN," and that's all that the Democrats want for now.

I guess the biggest election news story is still Kamala's interview tomorrow.
Trump Campaign Gives CNN 10 ‘Must Ask’ Questions For Kamala Interview
They didn't actually give the questions to CNN. They were posted on Twitter.
But still.... good questions.
