It always depends on what you're looking for. When I had no money, Walmart "flannel" was where it was at. I'm now doing pretty well so I've been collecting a shirt a year from Duluth Trading (they fit my body shape really well). But I'm sure all the options listed in this thread will serve you well.

Part of the difference in flannels is how much they are "brushed." Brushing raises the fibers of the cloth and makes it fluffy. Duluth shirts are generally single-brushed, and thus not very fluffy. If fluffy is what you want, you might look for shirts that are double or triple-brushed.
$150? Yikes!

I absolutely love a good flannel shirt. I wish I could afford some higher quality ones.

Two things I need to say: You guys are aware of this, I’m certain. However, the gravity requires its utterance. Plaid and flannel are not the same thing. Secondly, I despise shirts with two pockets. Preferably one, can tolerate none, but never two. I know many disagree with me, but on this I can not and shall not waver. On this hill I plant my flag.

It could be worse. This is what Japanese motorcycle gang members would wear.

Several years ago, a sporting goods chain was closing and I took advantage of the closeout prices on some Flannel hunting shirts. They were solid color dark gray. They are heavy duty and most times I can't wear them, because they are too warm...but I get 4 or 5 times a Fall/Winter when I can take advantage of the warmth...duck/goose hunting and such. I wore one at the parade and Christmas tree lighting in Salida 2 week ends ago...It was 26 and I was still a little too warm :)

I was given an Orvis flannel shirt yesterday. I don’t know how it measures up to your fancy, high dollar unicorn fur shirts, but it’s heavy, soft, and handsome - easily the nicest flannel shirt I’ve owned.

I’m very pleased with myself for being able to contribute to this esteemed thread.

I need to visit Fleet Farm and return the jigsaw puzzle of the Last Supper that I bought for Mrs. Del after Christmas. (She already has a box).

I'm going to check out their flannels.

A video about Filson popped up in my youtube feed last night. Basically about how they jumped the shark. For half a century they made 12 or 13 things. Shirts and jackets. A few venture capital sales later and they're putting their names on Jeeps, bottle openers, dog toys, and tote bags. They still still make shirts and jackets but only trust-fund hipsters can afford them.
