If Vandenberg can track a drone and arrest the perp on his way to the PRC, why can't Picatinny or Fort Drum (or New Jersey) find who is flying drones in their neck of the woods?
Inquiring minds want to know.
This whole thing reminds me of the complacent clowns running the Secret Service and it could end very badly. Suppose those dozens of drones descend and detonate dirty bombs tonight? Or some sort of emp devices to jam the power grid, or internet, or other vital communication systems? No need to shoot down our satellites, just disable the ground-based shacks that talk to them. "We don't know who's flying them, or why, but we don't think they're a danger". It 202-effing-4 and some pissant army is flying around unhindered over the "strongest" nation in the history of the world?! Look what Ukraine is doing to Russian and North Korean troops and tanks with drones! And we're just letting these things fly around like curious novelties. This could be worse than 9-11 - we're watching them but not doing anything.
[EDIT] "Not doing anything" is probably the wrong term. Not doing enough or not doing anything effective is probably a better description.
[EDIT 2] You know I'm not at all a conspiracy theorist who's worried about bogeymen around every corner, but this is unsettling. Could be a network of teenagers pranking us or it could be a very real threat. We spend trillions on defense and nobody knows - or at least won't tell us they know - wtf is going on.

I was just thinking that there's a good reason those drones aren't flying around SE Texas or SW Louisiana; but now I suppose I have to revise that to just SW Louisiana. It seems now there's some being seen over Bolivar Peninsula. But that should be with an asterisk, since Bolivar never has been known to be a very dry area, exactly, and many of those folks see all sorts of stuff. No offense or anything like that; they just enjoy having a good time.
The Indians will not bother you now, on account of ... you are touched.

I keep thinking back to my teens when I sold guns for Oshmans'. Back then everything west of the city on I-10 seemed to be rice land and duck blinds. We always had one of those long Marlin 10 ga bolt action goose guns on the rack. It looked like a Howitzer against all the other long guns. I remember them selling pretty well and would guess there are still plenty around.

Ah, yes. The ol Goose Misser 2000. We have one. I took it skeet shooting a couple few years ago and remember why I hated it in the roseate days of my yute. Total bastard of a gun in all senses of the word!
