Mount Chipotle

Post by Hovannes »

We took a drive to the famous Mount Chipotle yesterday
Do a search and see why.
It's on Google Maps if you want to attempt to summit.
My son, the mountain climber, elected not to join us.
ROFLMAO!

I looked up "Mount Chipotle" and read some articles.

I still have no idea what or why or where.

It's an example of the innocent old-time silliness that used to be more typical in the hill towns around here.
It's a fun diversion after the covid lockdown tyranny the town experienced.
The Christmas tree on the summit is loaded with custom lasered Sierra National Forest Mount Chipotle ornaments adventurers are invited to take home as souvenirs, but you have to climb Mount Chipotle to bag one.
It's in the parking lot next to the Chipotle in Oakhurst, on the way to Yosemite's South Gate

Okay.... Thanks! I get it now. I just needed to see a few pictures with buildings around for scale, and listen to a few locals milking the joke.

I love this kind of stuff! There was once a thread on Tobacco Reviews about "Lamb Cake Slices" from New Zealand.... OH! It's still available online!!!!

It's fun to read these reviews, especially after vanquishing Mt. Chipotle.

Mt. Chipotle has disappeared into the dust of History. Scooped up and hauled away. Oakhurst was having too much fun.

I didn't expect it to last forever. It is a prime bit of real estate. The removal of the excavation pile was contracted at the start of the job. Somebody was looking to get paid for finishing the work.

But surely they could have given it a few more weeks, right?
