The OFG's Pocket Knife
Todays carry is an old classic. I’ve carried this for around 25 years

Welcome Paul.
I went on a spree last night and bought enough mid-range pocket knives to outfit a boy scout safari to the Serengeti.

I bought this some time ago, but it's been sitting on a shelf in the box. I put it in service today because Jocose.

Well.. dang man.. the last thing I need (want is another matter tho hee - hee) is another Barlow knife but after reading Bloods post I realized that I didn’t have a Western brand Barlow.JimVH wrote: ↑09 Nov 2023, 15:28This place is rich with enablers.Jocose wrote: ↑09 Nov 2023, 15:17I’m now looking at these on the bay. Yer a bad influence.Bloodhound wrote: ↑08 Nov 2023, 13:23 When I was younger, I carried a Barlow pocket knife almost every day...you could get them at any harware store for a couple of bucks. I either broke a blade or my little brother would steal it (That's another story), and I would replace it with another Barlow. I didn't know that any quality knife companies built that style. Well when I was able to afford a little nicer quality knife, I kind of forgot about the Barlow shape. I am a big fan of the Old "Western" brand, that was an off shoot of "Case", and made just up the road in Boulder, Colorado. Then this past week, I ran across a Westerm Barlow...well it had to come home with me...here is the latest and what will likely be the last knife I buy in 2023. Western dates are a little hard to figure, but it looks like it may have been made in the late 70s. I'll work on polishing the blades and it will join my EDC pile/rotation.
So I’ve been looking on the ‘bay here and there and finally found one I liked, it should be here in a week or so.

Penny and I will be on the road for Thanksgiving...just the two of us and an open road. So I polished and sharpened the Western Barlow and it will be making the trip in my pocket. First time I have carried it since I got it.Jocose wrote: ↑21 Nov 2023, 18:37Well.. dang man.. the last thing I need (want is another matter tho hee - hee) is another Barlow knife but after reading Bloods post I realized that I didn’t have a Western brand Barlow.

The OFG's Pocket Knife
In the last 3 days, I have received: a 1969 AG Russell single spring Mohawk canoe with genuine pearl scales, a hundred year old single blade Westenholm Barlow, a brass handled single blade Virgin Mary quill knife from Lourdes, and an old beat-up laguiole picnic knife.
I have ordered a rough rider elephant's toe and a marbles Barlow with checkered gun stock handles
I'm still awaiting the two Italian pocket knives that began this madness.
I'd blame Jocose but I'm thankful to feel like a kiddo again.
