We just returned from an overnighter at Pismo Beach for some needed R&R. listening to the surf.

Rita shamed me into watching a Christmas special on NBC.

This is one of those “for better or worse, in good times and bad” moments.

My wife got a flu shot shot yesterday and was trying to get me to take one also. Another couple was there waiting for shots and the guy says "wives have a way of making you do things". "Yeah, we won't go there", I replied.

I know a guy.... his wife made him turn around on a Sunday drive tour along a Texas oil tanker canal full of interesting sights, just because she didn't like the road.

Just returned from an exhibit featuring photographs by Ansel Adams of the Japanese American relocation camp in Manzanar, CA, during World War II. Also on exhibit are selections from an illustrated diary by artist Takuichi Fujii who was fifty years old when war broke out and he was sent to incarceration centers. I know better than to judge previous times through my modern glasses, but still, it was not a bright spot in our history. There were no images of violence, but Mrs FredS came away shaken.

My alma mater (high school) won regional last night, in front of a crowd of ~14,000 at NRG Stadium in Houston. The score was 24-14, but it really wasn't that close. Our grandson did well but broke his ring finger on his left hand while making a tackle. He played on and did well, but it was pretty swollen today. He must be doing ok; he rode on the football team float in a local Christmas parade this evening and was able to throw candy.

On a somewhat related note, someone this evening stated that "some people may have 7s looking beyond the upcoming game". I was as curious as I am dumb, so I Googled the phrase, and ran across an Enneagram test, so I took it and ended up being a Type 1, with Type 6 a close second.
