UFO Hearing in Congress

Post by tuttle »

Today a House sub committee is holding the first hearing about UFOs in congress in over 50 years. It started a few moments ago. I'll live post if anything crazy happens (You'll hear it here first!)

Think it'll be any more than fluff and bluster?

They call UFO's "UAP's" now.

There will be two hearings, an unclassified hearing that peons like us can hear and a classified hearing that will happen behind closed doors where they'll probably party with aliens.

I'm guessing without Googling, "unidentified aerial phenomena"?

I've partied with aliens, here in Texas. One particular evening at the Astrodome is memorable, at an Astros vs Reds Monday night game. It was a double header.

Wait until Ukraine, the formula shortage, and Roe v Wade are over. Aliens will be the next big thing.

Yeah UAP = unidentified aerial phenomena

One of the tasks they just mentioned is to de-stigmatize reporting UAPs. There's already been 400 reports of UAPs since they've created a standardized way to report. They gave an example of certain "unmanned areal systems" seen off of two different coasts, years apart. Gathering that kind of data is what they're hoping for with an effort to gain knowledge with more and more data.

The group is technically called the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group or AOIMSG, which everyone keeps pronouncing as "aim sog" which I think sounds kind of stupid.

What they need to do first thing is find the alien(s) responsible for mashing down corn and wheat fields, creating those weird patterns.

The reporting protocol for personnel:

1) contact intel officer who would ensure data preservation
2) fill out form including tons of details, it goes through operation chain of command and also the UAP taskforce to database it and follow up interviews
3) Data is researched in database

The question was asked what other UFO research/projects/technology initiatives before or after Project Blue Book. The answer is they are not aware of anything.

They are also not answering or commenting on any "unofficial" reports, "unofficial" meaning any report they don't presently posses in their database.

They've not tried to make contact with any UAPs. And they do not claim to have any wreckage that is not already known to be "terrestrial" (I wished they followed up with the questioning about this).

--They currently have a partnership only with the FAA and are looking to expand partnership with other agencies in order to gather reports for database.

--A weird question: What are the consequences of false information from amature groups? The UAP task force, thankfully, didn't bite too hard, saying that their real information will eventually counter "harmful" disinformation. The congressman keeps asking what legal ramifications should be placed on citizens for UFO disinformation (the rep is LaHood).

--Question asked regarding the classified briefing: What are we protecting? The answer revolves around not wanting to reveal the US's sources and methods in detecting that are also are used for Nat Security purposes in monitoring adversaries.
