Flash flood in Buckhorn canyon 6-8 miles southwest of me yesterday evening. Two dead. The burn scar from a very large wildfire a couple years ago causes severe runoff with as little as an inch of rain in an hour. Warnings were issued but there's been two warnings a week for the last month and a half, so people just shrug and go on. Flash floods in the area killed 4 last year and I'm sure there will be more over the next few years. Barely sprinkled at my house.

We got three hours worth of good rain yesterday evening. It's possible I might have whimpered a little.

75°F and partly sunny. NE breezes at 11 mph.

Sorry that summers are gorgeous in Wisconsin. Also short. Folks are already saying "enjoy it while it lasts."

Slow, soaking rain most of the day.

I'm giddy.

Last week we had a crazy thunderstorm, that dumped 2 inches in an hour...but then it moved out and left a soaking rain that went on for the next 8 hours or so. We need the water so I am not complaining...but I would have preferred the 8 hours of rain, less the deluge...I know...that is really picky...

It’s 77 outside with a nice breeze that feels like hope. It gave me goosebumps.

This has been one butthole of a summer.

It's cold.
