Hate List

It was a year ago I posted this somewhere, and it came to mind last night while looking at the weed thread.

We attended a memorial service last night for a friend. To say that he was extremely unique is a complete understatement, and I won't expound because if you didn't know him you wouldn't understand him.
But there were various speakers, and a couple of his old co-workers shared that they compiled a "hate list" over the years, in humor, of things our friend had said he hated, such as cheese, raisins, Band-Aids, hand sanitizer, and "the other side of the house" whenever he's mowing. It was a long list, two or three typed pages perhaps.
While sitting there I tried to come up with my own list of tangible things, excluding inherently bad things like cancer and diseases, tornadoes, etc, and I truly couldn't come up with anything that I truly hate. Of course, there are some things I like better than others, but if I truly hate something, I can't think of it.
Now, 1 year later, a couple of things I hate have occurred to me. Mosquitoes, for example.
The guy I spoke of above, after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's, told me with a straight face, "I'm pretty shook up about it". I sure do miss that guy.
