My brother
Little by little-- improvements with the directed drug (still in hospital but he's looking forward to going home-- slightly cranky about not getting a hospital bed for home-- I take crankiness/standing up for his wants as a good sign).
He's on his feet some and physical therapy had him do some stairs (3 up and down). His voice is coming back some.
I hope something further advances today too.

Little by little-- far better than he was before the directed meds. He wanted pie yesterday and talked on the phone with our step-mother (maybe others, I only heard from one). He said it was pretty good pie to me by text... I dared to if he had coffee with it. He likes good black coffee... he was not impressed with the hospital darkened water. I told him I was afraid to ask. That's a glimpse of our humor and connection-- facing cancer and praying but afraid to ask if he dared to have the "coffee".
He was making tremendous progress (my phrasing) but the directed drug releases toxins... they took him off for a day and are adjusting doses to help his liver to maintain. Again, those are things I would say are encouraging news (little by little).
Thank you all! I dare to have hope this was a cancer type the drugs are particularly keen against.... yet it's hard and you don't know until you know.

My brother
Update.....
He's home as of last night. The directed drug has had a very strong impact-- they had to take him off it for a little bit to give his kidneys a breather and then ramp back up... and they have... and back up to near or at the strong dose.
He talked to me on Saturday for about 45 minutes! He did a fair amount of the talking and story telling. We made each other laugh and it was a solid and good time.
He sees each day as a blessing and has had a lot of outpouring of love from extended family, friends, coworkers, and even strangers.
Thank you for the prayers... thank you!
