Ah, it always comes back to eugenics. Which this idea is. "Eugenics" was only barely about race and more about - well, keeping undesirable criminal elements from having children. Which is exactly your proposal. Good job.

There seems to be a popular sentiment that having sexual relations is a right, rather than a privilege.

I'm thinking mandatory libido-reducing drugs until persons show that they are responsible adults, with jobs and stable lives, and married long enough to prove that their marriage is stable and thriving. Then we will allow them have sex together.

Or we could go totally Brave New World. Eradicate marriage and fertility entirely, and raise designer babies in artificial wombs.

The point is to take choices away from people, and let experts decide what is best for us.

Experts being clergy, and deciding for the people that stable unions, rather than completely carefree procreation is best for us, and not entirely without merit.
One wonders whether Troubadour realizes that very few people put themselves under the control of clergy when it comes to sex (or anything else really) these days. I heard Little Stevie Van Zandt bitching about this on his radio show the other day. He was hoping for an enlightened country where "the church" doesn't decide "who you can have sex with, who you can love, or who you can marry". I'm like, dude that horse left the barn years ago. "The church" has no influence, let alone control, in the lives of most Americans today.

Dude's just trying to legislate himself some mandatory, government-issued poontang, fellers. Might not be doing so well on the free market, I'm thinking.

Ancient humanity figured out that it was very good for children to be raised by their own fathers and mothers. The primordial human societies created simple governments and religions in part to recognize and protect the families in their care. The shamans and chieftains ordered rules and standards for sustaining marriages and preventing infidelities. Every child deserves to know who his or her human father is, and society benefits from this recognition as well... inheriting property, for instance.

Which is to say: Clergy didn't make the rules. Neither did government. Marriage was a primordial and natural human institution, and various societies entrusted to governors and/or religious leaders the duty of maintaining the institution.
=====================

"Population control" is a very, very modern notion. It was invented right alongside of "birth control."

In 1968, Pope Paul VI (Humanae vitae) warned that nation-cultures which embrace contraception will find that their governments will start meddling in the privacy of "family planning." A few years later US Democrats were shoveling money to Planned Parenthood, and in 1980 China instituted their "One Child Policy." That's how recent this is.

With apparently no interest at all in pipes or the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior, why do you post here?
The Bible (That means God's Word) tells us that "the things of God are foolishness to those who are perishing". (that means going to Hell)
Please accept Christ as Lord and Savior in your life then come back to see us... with a pipe.
