Annual Pipe Night...

Had the annual Pipe Night and slow smoke competition last night at the Country Squire. Nice turn out, lots of good food, some great beers and whiskey to try, and Dave Shain of The Pipery and creator of the Pocket Jar brought some really great aged tobaccos to try...my favorite was the McCrainie's Red Flake from 1999. Unfortunately, I couldn't pull off a win in the slow smoke. Ended with a time of 40:42. Winning time was 51:41. Though I took it all the way down to some fine white ashes. The blend was a variation of the Country Squire's Green Dragon with 25% perique added. It was nice. Oh, I did win a nice little flake tray made by BG Woodworx. Overall it was a really fun night.

How come it wasn't "Pipe Night" when I was there?

Wow...looks like big fun! Wish I was closer...but while normally in Colorado and that is too far...I was West of there on the Oregon Coast...long long ways off.

Glad you had fun!

Awesome! If gas prices ever become reasonable again, I need to make a trip down to the Country Squire.
