I hate to be THAT neighbor, but I had to call the deputy tonight on what, I think, was a someone about a 1/4 mile down the road. Absolutely blasting music. Every once in a while it would rattle the windows on my house, even from that far away. I've only ever once before called the cops for a noise complaint. Had a Mexican guy that lived behind me on a furlough that would get hammered and crank some mariachi music at midnight and later in a closely packed neighborhood then scream profanities in Spanish while smashing beer bottles.

I swear this guy tonight had a lookout. The music shutoff about two minutes before the cop pulled into my drive to inform me that he didn't hear anything. And wouldn't you guess it, as soon as he got down the road, it started back up again.

I've been sipping on some port tonight, or I would drive down to investigate the exact location myself and deal with it. If it continues tomorrow night, that's exactly what I'll be doing.

Target acquired. It wasn't the original location I thought it was. No port for the next few nights.

I'll address the situation personally if it happens again.

Seriously tho, I'm sorry you have to deal with the noise. Hope things chill out in a positive way.

How many times has this happened? You're right, you don't want to be that guy. Maybe the dude was just having a party and things got out of hand. Call the cops on the third violation.

Oh, and unless you know the person to be a good guy, don't go to his place packing and looking for a fight. That's not really what you want is it? A fight or shootout is about the farthest thing from the peace and quiet you really want.

It was the third night in a row.

I don't know the guy. I would not go to someone's property without an invitation...much less with a weapon.

It turned out the lady who was renting the house was out of town and her son invited a bunch of his idiot friends over and they started a big bon fire and got drunk (currently a burn ban going on here). From what I'm told the mom lit into the boy.

So...we'll see. Last night was quiet.
