I live near the Stevens Point/Central WI area. Onalaska is about 2 hours from me south west
Good. I didn't want to tell that story.
So.... what do you like to smoke? Do you have a favorite type of tobacco? Do you have a favorite pipe shape? Do you have little boys who are fascinated by the smoke-breathing man? How'd you get started in this arcane hobby?
Preferred Blend: Almost anything, still doing a lot of exploring. I almost buy a new blend every month to add in my rotation. If I had to choose; Any Semois by Vincent Manil. I have to support my Belgian Heritage
I don't really have a favorite pipe shape. I have spent a lot of time staring at the charts with all the different shapes, and I like them all. Most of my collection is from Missouri Meerschaum and Morgan Bones.
And I first got into pipe smoking when I turned 18. One of my friends for my birthday took me to a gas station to buy my first corn cob pipe, and tobacco. We then went to a park and hung out, which we called the activity "Corn-Cobbin". And I got horrible tongue bite and tried to inhale one too many times. After a few months I threw the stuff out and never did it again. A few years later my sister got married, and I got a cigar as a groomsmen gift. After that I was a cigar smoker on and off for years. Then decided to take it up as a regular hobby. After a while I realized it was easier to spend $50 dollars on a few pipe blends and have it last longer than a one night cigar. And the smell of a pipe was a little more tolerable to others than cigars, and so I've been pipe smoking regularly for 2 years.

That's great. Do you play wordle or have strong opinions as to why you'd make a great pope? If not, for the love of the one that saved us, would you post a few new topics? I'm very glad you're here!
Unfortunately I do not play wordle. I did notice that is a topic, and considering looking into it.
And to finally address a comment made earlier about me living in the Lutheran area, I am a Lutheran (apologies to my Catholic friends, and for the Wittenberg door). I was born and raised non-denominational, and after meeting my wife. I’ve become part of a Lutheran church. So I consider myself a “reluctant Lutheran”.
All in all though, I will do my best to add to the forums some new content.

Looking forward to it, sir. Seriously, welcome aboard. I don't believe in gracism any more, although I've been sadly guilty of it. If a man believes that Jesus Christ came down from heaven and was born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified for our sins, died, and was buried only to rise on the third day to ascend into heaven and will come again to judge us all, then that man is my Christian brother. It's not grammatical, but it's my theology.

I work as a Paramedic in Wisconsin, hence the name Medic. I've incorporated medic in a lot of my usernames through the years. And adding "Smoking", seems to be the obligatory option while on a Pipe Smoking Forum.
Thank you for the follow-up. I figured you were either EMS or military. I finished a 40 year career in EMS (Texas) a short time back. Still a paramedic on paper, but it’s been a minute since I was the last thing you wanted to see as your eyes close.
It’s good to have you here.

And he has to enjoy fine tobacco too, right? You're pretty dogmatic about that.

You'd make a fine pope, I think.
I had a good friend who was young Assembly of God pastor in Wisconsin. Myself having grown up on the edge of the Bible Belt, we often noted that there aren't many Evangelicals in Wisconsin.
Pastor Mickey put it this way: "This is High Church country. You can't swing a Bible anywhere without hitting a Catholic or a Lutheran."
