Hot open faced with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy on top, don't forget the black olives.
Ham is for day after Easter.

Turkey is for week after Thanksgiving.

What a croque.

Who made you guys the arbiters of what gets eaten when? I had tenderloin for TG, then yesterday wifey made turkey because family that was supposed to show up on the w/end, got sick and bailed AFTER the groceries were bought & the turkey thawed. Invited pagans over, and enjoyed turkey anyway. Just because.

I like a dark rye bread, ham that has been lightly fried in a hot pan, sharp cheddar and olive oil mayo. I like the miracle whip, but my wife doesn't so we don't have it on hand. I don't normally put mustard on a ham and cheese, I save it for the roast beef sandwiches.

Good stuff. But, I'm not seeing a lot on the type / style of ham we're using.

Honey Ham, smoked ham, boiled ham, ham that's damn near spam ham, and the like.

And have you ever had an hot open faced ham sandwich with red eye gravy poured over it? Good dense hearty breads for soppin' up recommended.
