Royal Yacht is a fine tobacco, especially at the frequency of about one tin per year.

Especially good in the 2013 CPS poy; perhaps it's the open draw.

I don't think I've had this one.

I've heard of Dunhill tobacco. The website here says it's a Dunhill blend:

Honestly, I don't think I'd be able to appreciate the intricacies of the pricier brands given that I tend to smoke pretty frequently and that the taste is less important to me than the relaxing feeling of a warm drag against my throat.

Haven't smoked it in years. I do remember liking it very much.

RY was my first Dunhill blend. Smoked a fair amount of it at the time, but haven’t again in several years.

I tried it once, many years ago, just to see for myself how it tasted and how it smoked. The tin description listed a secret "unique" flavoring ingredient. Folks either loved it or hated it, sort of like Marmite, but with most of the CPS folks referring to it as "Royal Yuck". I smoked a few bowls, then traded the tin away, although I did like the tin art.

delete, DP ... but while I'm typing I'll add that if I had a sample of the new version of RY I'd try a bowl or two.

Indeed, I did not find it to my liking.

Wasn't Royal Yacht repackaged Lane 1Q or some such. Rusty would know.

I enjoy Royal Yacht.

Some have described the topping as Juicy Fruit gum flavor.

In my early smoking days I was a fan of Dunhill blends, but didn’t really like RY.

My tastes have changed since then.

To me there's been no noticeable difference since Peterson bought the rights. I still miss Dunhill Durbar.
