Jay Leno suffered serious burns on 11/14/22 when he was doused in gasoline while working on a car in his famous garage. He's recovering in a burn unit now, and expects to be there for another week or so.

Here's his prior video of the car. Forward to the 3:05 mark to see the complex starting procedure which involves pressurizing the fuel (gas) system, turning various valves in sequence, lighting the pilot, heating and atomizing the fuel, and finally heating water for steam. Yikes.

Jay Leno is talking to reporters and expects to fully recover, although he may need skin grafts to prevent scarring from third-degree burns on his face.

Fortunate his face already made him his $$. Don't wish burns on anyone though. Very painful. Praying for a speedy recovery.

As celebrities go, Mr. Leno is a generally likable guy. We all wish him a speedy recovery.

Well, he's a guy so of course he tends toward minimizing his own injury.

Also, being a car guy means he deflects blame from his beloved vehicles, or at least minimizes their fault, so his wife doesn't sell the lot while he's in hospital.

Prayers for his recovery. I enjoy some stuff that isn't up to current OSHA standards. I am as careful as I can be, but hope I am always two steps ahead of the machine. This is a reminder of how fast things can go wrong.
