I'm making an end table (it's not finished) for my wife as a birthday gift. It's a very simple build, nothing fancy at all. But the wood for the top and drawer face is from a piece of wood that came from the house of a lady that my dad and I looked after for years. We called her Mrs. Ollie, but her real name was Olive. No idea why we didn't call her by her real name. Until I was 12 or so, I always assumed she was family. She wasn't. Just a lady my dad looked after. Anyway, as best I can tell, the board is probably about 120 years old. I love that it has the saw marks in it still.

Looks great! Wonderful bit of sentiment built into it.

Here's an end table I made:

I know what you're thinking. "Is that chestnut?"

No. I think that it's either pine or Nordic cherry.

Very artistic. I really appreciate your abstract approach to square and level.

A Serenity by Jan bonfire scented candle on that Nordic cherry end table would look good. You can sit back and listen to Hunter's album while you enjoy the fragrance.
