Right after church I picked up our first dozen of home made tamales of the season, still hot from the tamale lady's kitchen :D
Spicy chicken and wonderful

I'm jealous. Wisconsin is not in the natural range of free-roaming Tamale Ladies.

My son got a nice buck, though.

I would have thought he'd prefer a squaw.

I wasn't aware that tamales had a season. I'll have to look around, I used to always see roadside trucks here and there in this area, selling fresh tamales.

This is true.

Don't worry.... Andy didn't get the Buck. Buck got the buck.

My father was also Buck. The whole "Buck buck" thing has been a meme in our family for many decades.

Home made tamales are a Christmas/New Years tradition among some communities, and there always seems to be a kindly tamale lady to keep grateful gringos from missing out on the tamale action.

Friends don't let friends eat frozen industrial grade tamales.

This is really sad.

I remember Red's Tamales.
They were not tamales.
Good riddance!
That old boy needs a tamale lady for real tamales
