I read somewhere that Apocalypse actually means something like Revelation.
This. Or 'revealing'. The great Tamale Revealing? Ok, I'll allow it, it still works.

My sister in law sent us some tamales this week from this place ... https://texaslonestartamales.com/. And they were very good.

Pipeson and I went out in the "storm" to enjoy dinner at our favorite local family Mexican place.

They had a life-size doll of Mexican Santa (he's all dressed in green). But his beard looks just like mine.... so laughs were had.

And a burrito. I had a grilled burrito.

I had pork tamales with green chili sauce and a little sour cream on Christmas eve for lunch!

I was outside and caught a drive by from the tamale lady. She was very sheepish about the price and said grocery costs were really hurting business. I felt bad for her.

I bought my usual and she walked on.

Two thoughts:
1 - I heart the tamale lady.

2 - The price of tamales is too damn high.

The freezer is bare, so I reached out to my tamale lady. I learned she passed over the summer and the family closed up shop.

She was a very sweet lady. I looked forward to her visits for more than just the tamales.

With apologies to Vera Lynn's There'll Always Be an England

There'll always be Tamales
and Tamale Ladies shall be free
if bags of Tamales mean as much to you
as bags of Tamales mean to me.

This is genuinely heart-breaking.
