Pizza

Post by jruegg »

Back in the late 90's, Pizza Hut offered something called The Big New Yorker. My dad and I used to get that with BBQ pulled pork, which they also used to offer. To me, it was the greatest thing in the world. Gave teenage me indigestion every single time. In fact, I'm certain it's why I suffer from GERD today.

Totally worth it.

Unlike past times when the casinos advertised "specials" to attract people (ham and eggs for $1.99/ NY Steak for $5.00 etc...) everything has become dreadfully expensive (like $15 for a bowl of soup). Looking down a side street we saw a Raley's Supermarket in an old shopping center so we went to explore. Tempting aromas were coming out of a local pizza joint Blue Dog Pizza so we went inside. The pizza was wonderful :D and the wine was very descent, like Line 39 pinot noir for $6/glass, and the pours were generous.
Another supper, saved by pizza!

Now I would eat a slice or 3 of that pizza, with or without the wine.

Easter Sunday, I had me some Pizza Hut Meat Lover's Pan.

It was everything it ever was and — given the arc of History unfolding aright — always will be.

I approve of this message. PH seems to be trying to ruin the rest of their product line, but the pan still tastes pretty darned good.

Really? What've those shifty corporate buggers been up to?

It's been a long time since I've had their Thin 'N Crispy and I've never had the Hand-Tossed (that is, unless it's just a name-swap with the retired Thick 'N Chewy). However, as I mentioned upthread, I had their "Detroit-Style", and — regardless of its Detroit creds or lack thereof — it was a damn fine pie.
