As a father of 3 and grandfather of 8, I can tell you that fishing with kids isn't really fishing. Oh it can be fun - see the pics I posted on page 3 of this thread - but it's a lot nicer when the rug rats aren't nipping at your heels. Leave yer wife at home too.

I'm externally motivated. If you invited me to go fishing, I'd be there. But on my own? Meh.

Nice........ An here I was, all ready to buy the 2nd round...

I fished a high mountain creek last weekend and caught beautiful brook trout. Biggest one was perhaps 7" long. Monday morning, while waiting for others to join a video call, a workmate told me they'd set a trot line at the lake over the weekend. Their smallest catfish was 5lb, the largest was 35lb. My biggest fish was smaller than their bait!
