It's already trout season here. Very early start for us, yet I still haven't made it out.

Oh well.

We are open season year round here in Colorado with the exception of a few lakes. But we had/are having major snow here, so it will be a while yet before I get out...so I bought a fly rod...it is heavier weight than I will likely need in Colorado, and heavier than I have reel or line for....but it was a deal and it makes me feel better about not fishing yet... 8-)

The lower sections of my river with southern exposure are open, as well as the lakes/ponds down here at 5200 ft. S'posed to get cold again in a few days so the river might slush up overnight. I've been messing with other things so haven't gone out and I'm not ready. Then again, I've never taken special care of my gear so it's pretty much as I left it last fall, which is ready to go. I should replace leaders and tippet spools and reorganize my fly boxes. But I probably won't.

Arctic Grayling this Summer? I am already to get up there and fish...walked across the street to the green belt and practiced my casts and roll casts...

I can't wait! Google says Joe Wright is only 35 miles from the cabin. About an hours drive through the mountains.
