I've typed so much since yesterday, I'm just going to copy and paste a facebook update my wife wrote this morning. Praise God for putting the right people into our life at the right time. In this case, God began orchestrating a friendship with Wesley in first grade and has been a lifelong friend of mine.
"*Update: we left the ER at about 8:45 and Mattie was still in a lot of pain with the incessant ringing in her ears. Wesley Shields drove back to his office MS Center for Orofacial Pain & Sleep Medicine LLC and spent over an hour working on the source of her headache. She left with no headache and with the ringing in her ears diminished. I can’t tell you what a blessing it was for someone to care so much about my child and her pain, and to go to such great lengths to help her out. He could have easily said “come to my office tomorrow” but he didn’t. He drove back to his office and waited for us to be discharged from the ER so we could go straight there. After watching her go into anaphylactic shock in the ER, then think I would have to take her home in worse condition than I brought her was devastating. Thank you Wesley, for your incredible act of kindness! I will never forget it!"
She actually slept for the first time in two weeks last night. And she woke up with her headache gone and the ringing in her ears greatly diminished. Even laughing some this morning. So thankful.
