The same at 1994, at 2000 and now at 2003 in that area, more than 1.000.000.000 euro (1071350000 $) is the damage plus we still haven't finished the count from deceased people.
Whole villages vanished, people-animals-cars-trucks-bridges-fileds-stores-orchards-sheepfolds-schools etc burried from water-mud-debris.

I live in Athens, the disaster was 300 Km far away from me. Back in my parents house was a lot or rain and a small river flooded causing damage to some houses but still our house is intact.
