POY History

Post by JimVH »

Did we do a 2011 POY? If so, what was it?

I’m missing the 11. I didn’t participate in 08. I think it was a Sav Apple, if memory serves.

Feel free to correct anything I got wrong.

I gave away the 07, I think to the guy that lives in Wharton TX. I still see him on fb sometimes.
I gave the 13 to the guy named Adam I think, who lives in NC and no longer smokes. He told me he would send the pipe back to me but I never got it back.
The 10, Luciano, is one of my favorites, and I still smoke it regularly.
I either had, or still have, the 12, I'm not sure. I gave away the 09 but don't recall who I gave it to.
I've never smoked the 16 Grabow, but I plan to on some special occasion. It's a special pipe to me.
I still have the 18 "Rusty" Blatter, and smoke it occasionally. It's a pretty good pipe, but I'm still trying to open up the air passage without damaging the stem.

I think the 18 was the last POY that I got. I don't recall the 19 at all. Nor the 08 or the 11 at the moment. If the 15 was the cob, then I may still have it around here somewhere, if I didn't put it in a box pass or give it away. I'm pretty sure I didn't get the 14, 17 or 20.

All were fun; good memories of the old CPS site.

15 was a Moonshine Billiard (at least mine is stamped "15"). I think that's the one where the maker lost our CPS stamp. 19 is a tiny little Dublin.

I remember doing a cob as a joke way back in the Zed days. Did we do on another time?

I may have the 08 and 11 mixed-up. One of them was a Sav Apple. Can't remember the other.

It's not memory. I just spent two solid days unpacking and organizing. I had to touch every one of them.
