Public lighting of Christmas tree and menorah events have been either nixed or gone "virtual" in many places---especially in California--- because of threatened protests.
Neither has anything to do with current events in the Middle East, but is recognized by those in control as a "window of opportunity" for possibly violent protest.
What are your thoughts on this?

Just like the covid restrictions. Any excuse to suppress our public displays of joy and faith and community.
Although perhaps the terror threats are a bit more real than covid.

Christmas trees and menorahs
Tree lighting events and parades have all taken place in our surrounding communities so far this year, with no issues except for mosquitoes. The downtown street was packed with people when the mosquito spraying crop duster plane circled a couple times before making a pass straight down the street. How ominous I thought, but most if not everyone else paid it no mind.
The Indians will not bother you now, on account of ... you are touched.

Christmas trees and menorahs
All wars in history have been started by religious zealotry. If you let a bunch of religious zealots light up a CHRISTmas tree, you can expect other religious zealots to riot, and then all of California will be a warzone. Ban Christmas for the sake of peace on earth.
I am not as cool as JimVH. Nor or you. Well, unless you ARE JimVH.
