Good luck finding a decent used tiller. I'm still keeping a eye open for one, but they're hard to come by. A good new one costs big bucks, which ain't happening soon 'cause I need to get new tires for my truck first. That's all TMI I know, but there it is.

Ask a neighbor with a teen who needs a job, maybe?

Italian curlies are still unavailable, so I picked up a Jimmy Nardello, which should be close enough.
I also picked up a Big Zack tomato.
So I'm nearly done planting.

I still haven't put in any peppers..
They're sitting patiently in pots, awaiting my attention.
The problem is I have to erect the trellis for the tomatoes, and the peppers share the same raised bed, and I don't want to damage any of the plants in the process.
This is going to be difficult to do single handedly as the trellis is substantial.
For materials I recycled 8' treated landscape timbers and an old wooden mast from a sloop.
Fwiw, the Midnight Snack tomato has two blossoms already.

Today will be gardening day here. Harvest whatever greens and turnips I can either cook or give away, till soil, do some mulching, fertilizing, weeding, and basically get ready to plant the spring garden on Good Friday.

I put in most of my peppers and I still have room for four more pepper plants.
I'm thinking of a Shishito and???

The bees were buzzing and working over the mustard greens, which are now going to seed. This coming week I'll cut them down, till them into the soil, and plant a few tomatoes. I have a couple of Park Whoppers, a few Roma, and some Creole, which I planted last year with good results.

My new tiller, was given to me by a good friend who is moving and not taking it along. I'm the 4th owner of this tiller, and the first non-cajun owner, btw.

Today was planting day here ... Creole tomatoes, snap beans, Roma tomatoes, Park Whoppers, red bell peppers, yellow peppers, jalapeno peppers, and some watermelons. Tomorrow will be a row of cucumbers.

I put in three more pepper plants today, a Jalapeno, a Long Italian, and a mystery.
Raised Bed #1 is looking good!
