I don't know how the scoring works, but I'm pretty sure this isn't impressive. I didn't get a single theme word on my own.

Yeah, it was my first time to play, after seeing it advertised in the NYT. I wasn't able to get but one hint, but figured out the theme word after a while. It looks like a good puzzle for late night with coffee.JimVH wrote: 24 Mar 2024, 12:16 Strands #21

This one took a while but I'm learning. The so-called spanword or whatever can go from top to bottom or vice versa in addition to side to side. Also I swear I got a theme word or two that wasn't counted. I still don't know how to obtain more than one clue, however.

“That’s fantastic!”

Man, this thing is time consuming, but much better this time. Cluing to the theme early makes a big difference.

Dang thing crashed and would only give me one hint no matter how many words I banked.

My best effort, but it took way too long.
