What are auto repair tools you hate to reach for?
Tools that only come out when things have gone very, very wrong?
In other words, a tool that saves the day.

BIG hammer
Vice grip
E--Z Outs
Pipe "cheater"
Heat gun/torch
Bolt cutter
Hacksaw (or Sawz-all or equivalent)
Monkey wrench
Taps & dies
Cold chisels & punches (usually goes with the BIG hammer)
Wrecking bar

Pretty comprehensive list.
I've reached rock bottom when I'm walking around the garage trying to figure out how to fabricate a tool that is capable of withstanding the degree of force that has become necessary.

Leap Day approaches, which means March is marching in, which means that soon I can swing ordering a badly needed radiator for pop's Model T.
I already have the new hoses and hose clamps impatiently waiting to be installed.

Nope. Both upper and lower tanks were too badly cracked and the tubes were shot.
It's a 100 year old brass radiator, after all, they said.
Sounds like one of those deals where you keep chasing problems and before you know it you've sunk a couple thousand dollars on something that couple be replaced for a few hundred.
I found a brand spanking new radiator still in the box on eBay.

My son helped split the cases on the 79 Yamaha IT400F we are rebuilding. Bike has been sitting since 1985 and was locked up. Will be sending the crank off to be rebuilt next week.
He was excited to be the first person to look at the innermost workings since it was built in 1979.
